A walk around Lympsham

Today for the first time in a very long while I took a walk with my camera. Just me, my camera and a slot of time for taking pictures. For anyone who has been visiting my site you may have noticed that there have been some more pictures going up and also more catagories. The somerset page has had two buttons added at the top of the page for Weston super Mare and for Mark. These two places now have a dedicated page all to themselves. I hope to be able to do more of this in future and the village of Lympsham was my first target.

I last visited Lympsham a number of years ago and I always intended to go back with my camera but never quite got around to it. I started by parking outside of the 15th century Church of St. Christopher on Church road. This starts from oposite the school then going past the church before curving round in a semi circle and heading off to the village of East Brent. On this semi circular bit of road you can see The Old Forge and The Old Post Office both of which have now been converted into houses. There is also the Telephone box which has now been converted into somewhere that villagers can swap plants and seeds. This is sat next to a Fire Hydrant which is not something you see often. Not in a village enviroment any way. This itself is sat next to a Monument which makes this little area quite interesting and I spent a little time looking around and taking pictures. This would have been the hub of the village at one time and you could imagine it being busy bustling with people coming and going and having a chat to each other whilst heading to or from the post office nearby.

The hub of the village has now shifted to the Cricket Pavillion which was opened buy HRH Anne, The Princess Royal, on 1st May 1992. There is also a new Post Office which was built when the old one closed. I loved the walk this morning and Lympsham is a lovely village to look at should you be passing and maybe pop into the Pavillion for a beer.

There will be a gallery of my walk coming soon

Today has been fruitful. I have managed to unravel some images which I have been trying to place for quite a while. Today I will not feel the frustration of getting nowhere. It is often the case that
